"East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet.”  This is a little saying that is often used to justify and accept that people are different and there is nothing one can do about it.  It comes from The Ballad of East and West, by Rudyard Kipling. But take a look at what Kipling went on to tell in the Ballad of East and West:

“But there is neither East nor West, border nor breed, nor birth,
When two strong men stand face to face,

tho’ they come from the ends of the earth”.

Isn't that beautiful?   He is saying that when we make the effort, and are strong and willing enough to face one another, we discover that there is no East or West, or any other difference at all. We are one, even though we come from the ends of the earth.  Love it!
