The process steps are as follows:

1.     INTERVIEW

The interview processes elicits memories of the most notable moments of excellence as experienced by the people of the organisation. They describe their experiences, extracting the factors that make them feel most alive, involved, and most effective about their involvement in the organisation.

2.     MAIN RECURRING THEMES

In the plenary the participants share what they have heard and together identify the recurring themes that arise from their positive experiences.

3.     THE POSITIVE CORE

From the recurring themes the team, through a creative facilitated process identifies which of these themes has the most impact, and that all of them want more of in the organisation.  This is called the positive core.

4.     METAPHOR

In groups, metaphors are designed that best depict the positive core they have chosen.  This part of the programme stimulates whole-brain thinking which plays a vital role in improving the quality of the processes that follow.

5.     PROVOCATIVE PROPOSITION/KEY STATEMENT

A bold, provocative and challenging statement is designed, which is desired by all and challenges the status quo.

6.     ACTION PLAN DESIGN

Designing the action-plan to shape systems and relationships to support the desired outcomes and ensure their sustainability long after the event.  

7.     COMMITMENT

Alignment with action plans; declaration of intended actions; agreement on team process.

8.     SUSTAINABILITY

Sustaining the paradigm shift of Appreciative Thinking as a part of the new approach to Organisational process.  Sacco Consulting's approach is to provide the platform for the organisation to design its own way to sustain this experience.
